Tucked away within the peaceful grounds of Lakeside Lodge Golf & Country Club, our two private fishing lakes provide a calm and scenic setting for anglers to relax and unwind. Surrounded by mature trees, open lawns, and the sounds of wildlife, they offer a truly restful experience in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Both lakes are owned by Lakeside Lodge and managed by the Fen Fly Fishing Club, ensuring high standards of care, water quality, and maintenance throughout the year. Open daily from dawn until dusk, the lakes are reserved exclusively for residents of Lakeside Lodge. Please note that night fishing is not permitted.
At Lakeside Lodge, anglers can choose between two beautifully maintained lakes, one for fly fishing for trout and the other for coarse fishing. Whether you are an experienced angler or a casual visitor looking to spend a quiet few hours by the water, both offer an enjoyable and rewarding day’s fishing.
Several wooden jetties and grassy banks surround the lake, offering a range of comfortable fishing positions with ample space for back casting. The setting is peaceful and well-kept, ideal for those seeking quiet concentration and scenic views.
Fishing is available from dawn until dusk, with permits priced at £30.00 per person per day. Each permit allows the taking of up to three trout; please note that catch and release is not permitted. Permits can be purchased from the Golf Club Reception, and all catch returns should be placed in the post box at the Fishing Lodge. Convenient parking is located close to the water for easy access.
Situated just above the Trout Lake, our Coarse Fishing Lake offers a smaller, more intimate environment ideal for relaxed and traditional coarse angling.
Access is from the fishery car park along a 50-metre track, leading to the water’s edge. The lake features two jetties and nine individual swims, offering plenty of space and variety for anglers to find their ideal spot.
This lake is home to a good head of Carp up to around 18lb, along with various smaller coarse species. To maintain water quality and fish welfare, keep nets are not permitted, and night fishing is not allowed. Fishing is open from dawn until dusk, with permits priced at £10.00 per person per day, available from the Golf Club Reception.
